WHITE ASH FALLS https://www.facebook.com/pages/White-Ash-Falls/216436085057625 http://whiteashfalls.bandcamp.com/ As a former member of Yukon Blonde, Red Cedar, and a current sideman in Twin River, Vancouver-based songwriter Andy Bishop has dabbled in everything from heady psychedelia to '70s-tinged rock and reverb-kissed roots music. His latest endeavour is White Ash Falls, and this project finds the seasoned singer finally embracing the timeless folk and country sounds that are closest to his heart.
ELLIOT C. WAY & THE WILD NORTH Elliot C. Way (The River Vintage Clothing, Moonshining Music Fest, For The Sake Of The Song Sundays), has brought together an incredible lineup of musicians from Vancouver's best (Portage & Main, Rich Hope, Gay Nineties, and Red Cedar) to form what is now known as The Wild North. If you were lucky enough to have been in attendance for their performance at the Waldorf's Neil Young Tribute Night, then you need not read on. That night The Wild North came on with dizzying force, playing a 15 minute version of Cortez The Killer, and solidifying their place as one of Vancouver's deadliest Folk-Rock groups.
SAM MASTERTON Beatroute Magazine describes Sam as "soul searching roughneck" who puts his own twist on "country gospel"
Sammy has been missing in action for some years now. There are various myths circulating out there as to his whereabouts during these mysterious years. Some say he has faded into the rocky mountains somewhere, a recluse living off the land, just him and his slide guitars. One report has Masterton living amongst natives in South America, learning local spiritual and musical traditions while sharing his gift of the steel guitar with his adopted family. The rumor that Masterton may actually make an appearance at The Sumner Brothers Christmas Bash has us all pretty excited, and a little nervous.
