Freshman Year
Kennie Playhouse Theatre along with The Church of the Messiah is conducting a series of plays to impact the community. The theme for the event is called COMMUNITY CHECKUP. This play of the series is called Freshman Year - By: K T Curran.
Girls enter high school still not knowing how to balance between being a child and an adult. This play reveals the hidden cultural influences that can lead young girls into situations they are ill-equipped to handle. Misconceptions about dating and sexuality can have dangerous consequences for teenagers and these misconceptions can lead to serious problems such as eating disorders, low self-esteem, drug abuse, and high-risk sexual behavior.
The cast includes Clevetta Anthony, Fiona, Quinn Cooke, Quiana Jean-Pierre and Cortez Lee. Directed by Kenny Dozier.
The performance will be held at the Church of the Messiah located at 88 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 7PM. The doors will open at 6:30PM.
