American Modern Ensemble: Love & Sensuality
Tenri Cultural Institute New York, NY
Love and Sensuality is the theme for our second concert of the 2005-06 season. This program will consist of a few classics as well as a few rarely heard gems, including Love Songs by Leonard Bernstein, Valentine by Jacob Druckman, and the sexy Shiny Kiss by Alex Shapiro. We will also perform the winning work of the AME's First Annual Composition Competition. Paul Sperry will close the concert with a selection of American art songs by composers such as William Bolcolm, Tom Lehrer, David Del Tredici and Daron Hagen. There will also be a few surprises you won't want to miss. Performers also include Erin Leeser, flute, Meighan Stoops, clarinet, Dave Eggar, cello, Kevin Maynor, bass and Ieva Jokubaviciute, piano. Join us after the concert for a special reception featuring gourmet chocolates and desserts, strawberries and champagne. This concert will also be repeated at Sarah Lawrence College on February 15th. Please visit www.americanmodernensemble.org for more information.
Note: The seating is general seating: we highly recommend you show up early to guarantee a good seat. Tickets are also avaiable at the door one hour prior to the concert. If we are sold out, you can purchase standing room only tickets at the door for $10, one hour prior to the concert.
