Fix Democracy Firsts 2017 Annual Awards Dinner & Fundraiser!

with Special Keynote Speaker David Korten
Deep Democracy and the Path to Ecological Civilization

Sunday June 4th ~ 4-8 pm

Centilia Cultural Center  1660 S Roberto Maestas Festival St, Seattle 98144

David Korten, co-founder and board chair of YES! Magazine and author of Agenda for a New Economy, The Great Turning, and When Corporations Rule the World, will discuss that globally, we face three major interlinked crises  environmental, social, and governance. These three crises are self-imposed, potentially terminal for our species, and a direct consequence of the growing power of global corporations. Our task at hand is to drive the shift from a world of competition, exploitation, and domination ruled by money-seeking corporations and a few wealthy people at the top, to an ecological civilization of cooperation, generative partnerships, and living democracy, all within the limits of what living Earth can sustain. Dr. Korten will explore the profound cultural and institutional implications and the path ahead.

This event will benefit the pro-democracy movement in Washington State and celebrate WAmend and Fix Democracy First Joining Together. Enjoy a delicious Mexican food buffet with wine, beer, soft drinksand Margaritas too!
