Jane: An Abortion Service
Harpers Magazine and n+1 present a screening of the documentary JANE: AN ABORTION SERVICE
Jane: An Abortion Service follows the activities of a Chicago-based womens health collective, members of which performedwithout formal medical trainingnearly 12,000 safe illegal abortions between 1969 and 1973. An interview with some of its members appears in the April issue of Harpers Magazine.
Followed by a conversation with Laura Kaplan and Madeleine Schwartz.
Laura Kaplan is an activist and author. She was a member of Jane and a founding member of the Emma Goldman Womens Health Center in Chicago.
Madeleine Schwartz is a journalist and an assistant editor at The New York Review of Books.
