Saturday Salons: Dancing Keys
Michael and Kyung Kim, duo pianists
This brilliant pianist couple (one of whom is the Director of the U of MN School of Music) brings a sparkling program of Mozart, Bach, and "dances": written, or arranged, for four hands on one great Steinway keyboard. Ravels spooky and exhilarating La Valse is the truly grande finale, following selections from Grieg's Norwegian Dances and Brahms' Hungarian Dances, and Mozart's Sonata in C for four hands.
Small plates and full bar available during the concert-- dinner service begins at 430pm.
A new matinee series featuring the glorious gamut of the worlds chamber music, vocal and instrumental; from the earliest Renaissance and Baroque, through Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy and Ravel, to the 21st C, and brand-new music written just last week.
Soprano Maria Jette hosts a different combination of performers and repertoire each Saturday afternoon in the Dunsmore Room: a listening room featuring a fine 9-foot Steinway piano and cabaret seating.
