The High Line in Spring with Breakfast
Meet your fellow Dames and Walk the High Line on Saturday morning, June 3rd. Conducted by Dame Beth Allen's husband, John, the day will begin promptly at 9:15 am with a farm-to-table breakfast buffet at Mary Cleaver's charming eatery, The Green Table. Mary will share highlights from her storied 35-year catering and restaurateur career, as well as the food history behind The Chelsea Market, once the headquarters of Nabisco, and home of the Oreo. Walking tour starts at 10:30 am, with John and Beth offering up historical details that include the fascinating industrial, food and political backstory of The High Line, which not that long ago was a rumbling relic from Manhattan's past, scheduled for demolition. It is now a spectacular 1-3/4 mile elevated urban park, and the most visited attraction in New York City. Wear comfortable shoes.
