CANTICO SINGERS - Lux Aeterna (Eternal Light)
Spring is here! (we know, we know, almost... come on already, who else has had enough of this weather...?) After the long, gloomy winter we have shared (with varying degrees of tolerance) it's safe to say that we could all use a strong dose of light therapy and Cántico Singers is back to chase away winter with their beautiful choral sounds in their spring concert: "Lux Aeterna" (Eternal Light).
Performing a variety of songs from classics such as "Get Happy" and "Cry Me A River" and praise worthy spirituals like Elijah Rock by Moses Hogan, to contemporary pieces like "Sleep" by Eric Whitacre and "The Hymn of Acxiom" by Vienna Teng the whole family will find something to enjoy. For the sophisticated choral music lover you'll love the gorgeous "Lux Aeterna" by Edward Elgar arranged by John Cameron, and the Brazilian favorite "Salmo 150" by Ernani Aguiar, just to name a few!
And you don't want to miss the surprise piece from the popular Broadway show Hamilton!

With special guest performances by Evergreen High School Chamber Choir.
Held at the First Baptist Church in downtown Portland, with its historic setting, classic stained glass windows and rich accoutics, this venue provides an incredible space for listening to live choral singers. Located a few blocks west of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall close to many of Portland's great restaurants and ample parking, perfect for a date night.
