Butterfield 8 presents OTHELLO
Shakespeare gets the Butterfield 8 treatment in this new version of the tragedy featuring "gender reversed" casting, where women play the male roles and men play the female roles. This unique casting choice explores the culture of men, through the eyes of women.
This is the story of Othello and Desdemona, a golden couple who have it all -- true love, success and happiness. But they run up against "honest" Iago, a master manipulator who does evil merely for the pleasure of it. One of the most compelling villains ever written, Iago draws Othello and the audience into his spider's web of half-truths.
