Bamboo Lantern-Making Workshop
Get ready for the holidays and learn basic bamboo skills simultaneously! In this day-long workshop we will explore the structural properties of bamboo while we make opulent candle-lit and electrical lanterns that are perfect for gifts or holiday decoration. To construct their lanterns, students will learn how to cut, split, join, lash, and finish bamboo. You will work with different types of bamboo and with all of the basic bamboo tools, and you will take home as many lanterns as you can make. Class fee includes electrical materials for one lantern and bamboo and lashing materials for as many lanterns as you want.
