Beethoven and the Holidays
Celebrate the season with Beethoven's regal Piano Concerto No.5 "Emperor" as the guest pianist Dr. Robert Chauls joins the Valley Symphony Orchestra and Dr. Michael H. Arshagouni in this monumental work on the 200th anniversary of its' Viennese debut. The grandeur and splendor of this work stand as a testament of mankind's heroic will to survive in trying times.
Also on the program, the VSO will feature gentle and sublime music from Berlioz's oratorio telling the story of Christ's birth and the holy family's journey across Egypt. Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride brings some fun in an "accidental" holiday song that was inspired during a heat-wave in July 1946. Finally, VSO conductor Michael Arshagouni has woven together numerous holiday carols and songs in a delightfully festive new work.
Surely this is a concert the whole family will enjoy. Come and join all the members of the VSO as we celebrate the splendor and joy of the season!!!
