Hillsboro Community Youth Choir Winter concert "Ode to Joy"
Artistic Director Cindy Uecker and the Hillsboro Community Youth Choirs are working hard to prepare a wonderful holiday concert for music lovers in Washington County. This year, the annual HCYC concert is entitled "Ode to Joy" and it will feature the Premiere Choir singing "English Song of Joy," music by King Henry VIII, "Beautiful December" by Amy F. Bernon and "How Many Nights?" by Linda Swears. The Encore Choir will perform "Benedictus" by Orlando di Lasso, "Ave Maria" by Giulio Caccini, and "El Cielo Canta Alegria!" by Pablo Sosa. Together the Premiere and Encore choirs will present "Festive Processional" by Audrey Snyder, and the concert will end with the uplifting "Ode to Joy," by Ludwig Van Beethoven. In honor of the season, "How Many Nights?" features a lovely Hannukah song, and "El Cielo Canta Alegria" features an Argentine song of joy. Concertgoers are sure to leave the concert proud of our local youth's talent and achievement and with a joyful holiday boost in spirit.
Concert takes place at the Hillsboro High School Auditorium 3285 Southeast Rood Bridge Road, Hillsboro, OR 97123
Ticket costs are $8 for adults and $2 for children.
