#ShuffleFinale
SHUFFLE FINALE! In the final event of our biggest season yet, we are THRILLED to bring you a stellar program exploring 1920's Jazz influence from Paris to NYC. This program was the original inspiration for our #ShuffleSeason, so what better way to end this incredible year than with this fantastic music and inspiring artists!
Our set list for #ShuffleFinale includes: -Maurice Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Piano; his take on 1920s jazz craze -Claude Bollings fusion of classical violin and Paris jazz in his Suite for Violin and Jazz Piano -Georgia Stitt's (the dare-I-say more talented wife of composer Jason Robert Brown) song cycle for voice, violin, and piano on women's love, loss and life in Manhattan: Alphabet City Cycle -John Harbison: the composer of Great Gatsby the opera and his offering to the cabaret repertoire; Songs from After Hours
Returning is #LOFTrecital favorite and acclaimed Chicago violinist, Rachel Brown. Boston Soprano Mary Mackenzie will make her LOFTrecital premier with our Artistic Director and Founder, James Barnett, on the keys.
LOFTrecital is free and open to the public, but due to limited space an online reservation is required. There is a suggested donation of $20 to help offset the spacial costs of this performance.
The home recital/party is something most people have not been to, so let me take a moment and explain exactly what it is this evening will entail. Feel free to show up anytime during the "cocktail hour" which starts at 6:30p, grab a drink, say hello, etc, the recital will start at 7pm. Attire is casual, whatever you are most comfortable in.
