Anne Libera is the Director of Comedy Studies, a unique collaboration between Second City and Columbia College. She joins us for this 2 hour workshop intensive.

"PITCHING BETTER PROMISES."

In this active workshop, we will look at what makes a good comic premise, methods for coming up with comic scene premises, creating premises to be improvised, and how to pitch sketch premises and the best approaches to improvising and re-improvising from a premise.  Come to the workshop with a sketch idea to pitch, a note book, and be prepared to improvise.

Anne Libera has worked with The Second City since 1986 and served as the Executive Artistic Director of The Second City Training Center from 2001 to 2009. Her book, The Second City Almanac of Improvisation is published by Northwestern University Press. For The Second City, she directed The Madness of Curious George, Computer Chips and Salsa, and The Second City Goes to War and well as touring productions in the United States, Edinburgh, Scotland and Vienna, Austria. Other directing credits include Stephen Colbert's one man show Describing a Circle. She has been an artistic consultant to Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry and written for the NPR news quiz show Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
