This 21st of May, APC invites you to eat, celebrate and advocate for a great cause at the Alameda Point Collaborative Farm. Give extra meaning to words strength, home, and kindness.
APC will be hosting its annual fundraiser on May 21st from 1pm to 3pm. This farm to table experience will happen in the center of APCs 2 acre urban working farm and, include a completely organic and sustainable meal prepared with produce sourced directly from the farm.
Alameda Point Collaborative hosts this unique and elevated fundraiser ever year to raise funds for its residents living within its supportive housing community on the decommissioned Naval Base at Alameda Point. With every dollar raised, APC is given more support in its mission against fighting homelessness and poverty.
So, we ask that you join us for a beautiful meal on the farm and open your hearts to the beautiful community that is APC. May 21st, give the gift of strength, home and kindness at Alameda Point Collaboratives Urban Farm to Table Luncheon.
The Food
The plated meal will feature the gastronomic talent of A Fork Full of Earth. Owned by Executive Chef, Angela Ginsburg named one of the top 40 Green Chefs under 40 in the country- A Fork Full of Earth believes in the impact organic and farm fresh food can have on a community and the world. APC is extremely honored and thankful to A Fork Full of Earth for partnering with APC for this event and believing in its mission.
The Drink
Saint George Spirits, a neighbor to APC, will be serving original cocktails featuring its one of kind spirits. We cant wait to see what delicious cocktails will be featured at this years event!
Faction Brewery, another neighbor to APC, is serving craft beer from its award winning brewery. Opened by Rodger Davis and Claudia Pamparana, in December of 2013, Faction strives to make great beers that everyone can enjoy. To better the community around them, Faction has generously chosen to work closely with local non-profits like APC.
The Company
20 year old resident speaker, Elisha Wilson, will give his firsthand account of the resilience that brought him and his family to APC and, the self-empowerment and success he's achieved since living here. This years key note speaker, Paul Henderson, is the Deputy Chief of Staff & Public Safety Director for the Mayor of San Francisco. Paul will bring a forward thinking and thought provoking message into the community to encourage and uplift.
The Agency
Alameda Point Collaborative (APC) is a community of resilience. Opened in 1999 at the decommissioned naval base under title V in the McKinney-Vento act, APC is now in lease of the land for 59 years, from the city of Alameda. Settled on the former military base, APC uses the military housing and buildings to work to end homelessness by providing housing and services to formerly homeless families and individuals. To enter the community, APC residents must be displaced, and at least one head of household must live with a permanent disability. At APC, we recognize that solving homelessness requires much more than four walls and a roof. That is what makes APC so unique; residents are not just provided safe, stable, and permanent housing, but they can also access supportive services right in their community. Through the lens of trauma informed care, APC provides services like employment education and training, youth education and family therapy. The supportive community of APC is a strong one. It is a place where residents, and the community they have created, can progress and flourish.
