JUDY GOLD is an Emmy Award-winning actress, comedian (HBO & Comedy Central) and star of the critically acclaimed Off Broadway Show "25 Questions for a Jewish Mother."
MAKING TROUBLE (US 2007, 85 min, directed by Rachel Talbot) This not-to-be missed irresistible documentary, produced by the Jewish Women's Archive, profiles six great female comic entertainers: Molly Picon, Fanny Brice, Sophie Tucker, Joan Rivers, Gilda Radner and Wendy Wasserstein. Jewish comediennes Judy Gold, Cory Kahaney, Jackie Hoffman and Jessica Kirson play peanut gallery, commenting and schmoozing over lunch at Katz's Deli in New York City. They discuss what it means to be Jewish, female and funny. Ms. Gold will then participate in post-film discussion with the audience and film producers from the Jewish Women's Archive.
Co-sponsors: Althea Stroum & Family, Anonymous in honor of Michele Rosen (Jewish Women's Archive Board President), Shelley and James Dillon, Bob & Eileen Gilman Family Foundation, Michele & Stan Rosen and the Rosen Family Foundation.
Community Partner: Jewish Women's Archive (the film's producers and our special guest panelists) and Seattle Repertory Theatre.
|
| Notes |
Panel: Ms Gold will join producers for post-film discussion.
