Tampa Fringe - Masterwork
Barber Media Productions (Lakeland, FL) presents:

Masterwork

A painter struggles with her identity and ability to express herself as years pass and she becomes a wife and mother. This original show by Karissa Barber follows the artist from her Bohemian studio apartment to white picket fence. Is it possible to regain something she sacrificed for the life she chose?

Wife of 13 years, mother of 4 and a professional actress, writer Karissa Barber penetrates the feminist American dream of balancing home life and career in this playful, romantic, intimate two person show. Winning Theatre Tampa Bay's award for "Outstanding Featured Actress" in October, Barber is elated to return to the Tampa theatre scene with this poignant, raw, honest piece. Her favorite theatre credits include Doris Walker in Miracle on 34th Street with Garden Theatre (winning BroadwayWorld Orlandos Best Actress 2016), Heather Stovall in Hands on a Hardbody with TheatreWorks Florida, and Maria in Sound of Music at Theatre Winter Haven.

Christopher Rhoden is co-starring in this two person production and is thrilled to be apart of the inaugural year of TiFf.  A Lakeland-based morning radio show host by day and actor by night, Rhoden has actively been performing since 2010 and has made appearances on the stages at Lakeland Community Theatre and Theatre Winter Haven. He received the McGowan Spotlight Performer Award from Lakeland Community Theatre in 2014, after a season that included roles in "Les Miserables", "Sylvia", "Race",  and "Greater Tuna". He most recently performed in the leading role of Francis Henshall in "One Man, Two Guvnors" at Theatre Winter Haven.

"Masterwork" features artwork from painter Michael J. Citak and original music from Benjamin Arnold with lyrics by Jeffrey Peacock. Directed by newcomer Drew Arnold and stage management by Gail Vann. Technical direction by Dutch Salaz and costume design by Chrissy Plunkett.
