John Hay Grades 3-5 Outdoor Wilderness Spring 2017
Outdoor Wilderness will be a blast learning through adventure! For our grades 3-5 session, whether you are a new or returning student, well have lots of activities and learning opportunities for you! Some of our activities may include making our own shelters from natural materials, tarps and more, navigating around our own John Hay wilderness, collecting water, plant identification, using a compass, and lots and lots of team building activities. All our activities will be a combination of energetic games, team activities, leadership opportunities, and self-reliance. We have great activities for all weather, and shelters to stay out of the weather if it rains. Even so, we will be outside so a raincoat and warm layers are beyond recommended!
Note: our activities change every quarter. With spring coming and new plants beginning to grow, we'll be working on plant identification, edible plants, making our own cordage, and learning how to identify tracks, in addition to activities done previously.
