| Description |
James Mercer (The Shins), and Stephen Malkmus (Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks), will rock the stylish Jupiter Hotel stage on Friday, April 11, 2008, in this benefit concert for Buckman Elementary School, Portland's premier arts elementary school. Performance artist, writer, and filmmaker Andrew Dickson (whose performance piece "Sell Out" was a hit at T:BA 2007) and the awesome Tara of 94.7 FM will add a dash of hilarious irreverence as co-emcees for the evening's festivities. An art auction featuring work by acclaimed artists Storm Tharp, Joe Thurston, Jenene Nagy, Scott Wayne Indiana, Harvest Henderson, and others; video shorts; and a Buckman student art gallery will complete the evening's festivities. Plus, a free dessert bar, and a no-host bar with signature cocktails.
Ticketholders will also be granted free admission to the Buckman Art Show & Sell, a celebration of art featuring the work of 120 professional artists and craftspersons, live music, gourmet food, kids' art activities, artist demonstrations, and more, benefiting Buckman Elementary School, on Friday, April 11, 5pm to 9pm, and Saturday, April 12, 10am to 5pm.
NOTE: No one under 21 years old will be admitted. |
