Reading the House: A Close Look at the Architecture of the Fabbri Mansion
The Fabbri mansion is one of New Yorks most unusual residential buildings, and it includes some of the citys most beautifully detailed interiors. A rich record of the sensibilities of its architect and its builders, the House is a fascinating example of the influence of the Italian Renaissance in the US. Historic preservation consultant William Higgins will look closely at the features which give the house its very particular identity, and through them endeavor to better understand what makes the House tick as a piece of historic architecture. Mr. Higgins is a founding partner of Higgins Quasebarth & Partners, one of New Yorks leading historic preservation consulting firms. For the past thirty years the firm has advised institutional, corporate and private clients on the history, restoration, rehabilitation and ongoing use of many of the citys most distinguished landmark buildings. Tickets: $25. Wednesday March 1, 6:30 pm
