designedCOLLECTIVE 2012: BEAUTY, BRAINS, BRAWN and Beyond
The designedCOLLECTIVE is a group of talented: interior designers, architects, furniture makers, industrial designers, landscape architects, contractors, musicians, painters and activists. These are deeply skillful, motivated and evolved people doing good work. Our salon-style benefit celebrates artistry and humanity through the exchange of ideas, music, and food for thought.

LOCZIdesign is proud to present this year's designedCOLLECTIVE BEAUTY, BRAINS, BRAWN and Beyond, a panel of distinguished women designing a better world.

BEAUTY = Laura Guido-Clark is an expert designer of color, materials, and finishes who has worked with companies including Samsung, Kodak, Apple, HBF Textiles and FLOR. Nonetheless, her take on consulting with clients is a sincere, yet powerful approach. This award-wining designer has taken on the role of transforming run-down schools with color, while honoring the youth and their communities in her non-profit organization, Project Color Corps.

BRAINS = Dorka Keehn is an artist and author who is changing the face of politics one teenage girl at a time through her program Ignite.  Her book, ECO AMAZONS: 20 Women Who Are Transforming the World, celebrates the women leading the change to create a sustainable future while chronicling and illuminating the critical environmental issues of our time.

BRAWN = all three women, of course!

Beyond = Katie Meyler asks us to engage beyond our borders. As an activist and poet, Katie's Foundation, More Than Me was formed organically as a means to continue helping young Liberian girls get to school and off of the streets. More Than Me is currently in the process of refurbishing a school for their students.

This year's designedCOLLECTIVE is a benefit sponsored by San Francisco Magazine, Lioco Winery, Ultimat Vodka, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, ACRE Gourmet and The Westin St Francis; hosted by Funny or Die's, Erin Gibson, with DJ Loczi spinning on the one's and two's!
