Ladies and gentlemen, guys and ghouls, those majestically ruthless ladies of the flat track are at it again, bringing the most exciting sport on 8 wheels to Kellogg Arena. This bout will be a double header, giving you more bang for your buck.
In the first bout, your very own Battle Creek Cereal Killers will be hosting the Southern Belles Derby Team from Taylor, MI. This will be the first time these two teams have met. And much like elementary school, the fastest way to make a friend is to knock them down as hard and as often as you can. Or was that just me?
In the second bout, the Barry County Black Heart Maidens will battle their sister team the South Central Michigan Renegade Rolitia. As they say, familiarity breeds contempt, so this bout will not be short on action. This will be the Renegade Rolitia's first bout as they skate to prove a point.
Doors will open at 5pm
The first bout begins at 6pm
The second bout immediately after.
Tickets in advance are $10
Tickets at the door are $12
Children 12 and under are free with an adult.
True Fact: Contrary to the bout name, tackling is not allowed in roller derby.
Not-so-true Fact: When Bobby Pickett wrote the score for Monster Mash, it was intended to be about roller derby, called Derby Bash. However, a congressional hearing was held to address the subject, where it was decided the subject was too rough for mainstream culture.
