Trajectories Part 1: Transformations
This soldier isn't looking for insurgents or Al-Qaeda. He's looking for himself.
Using the expressive power of physical theatre, Trajectories tells, in three segments, the stories of an American soldier and an Iraqi citizen and how protracted conflict has influenced their ways of life. Trajectories Part 1: Transformations focuses on a young American serviceman whose innocent coming of age journey leads him to Iraq. While engaged in combat, he is faced with the reality that his search has led him farther from himself than he was before.
Trajectories is based on interviews conducted with Iraq War veterans and Iraqi immigrants now living in Chicago. Enhanced by live vocals and projected graphics and featuring a cast of Boston's best physical performers, Trajectories aims to open lines of communication and idea sharing between Americans and Iraqis, soldiers and civilians and students and teachers. EVET Arts brings a human face to The Other by reflecting familiar values back to the audience and challenging long-held but seldom-questioned beliefs.
