In this Small Bite Big Sips beer class students will be introduced to four beers that celebrate Oktoberfest in style along with a small bit of Beer knowledge and Oktoberfest history to enjoy the perfect combination of Beer and German dishes each served with a twist.
Tom Gelinne will lead the discussion from dark to light beers and the difference in what makes these German styled beers special. Noting the unique quality of the beer, what hops and grains are used, fermentation styles, tastings to understand the individual smells and tang of the beers and how that beer compliments the individual small bites menu.
A festive German inspired menu has been will compliment the beer selection. Students will have the occasion to participate with simple hands-on preparation in this culinary experience

Our instructor: Tom has been in the culinary industry since 1985 and has enjoyed a variety of jobs. Today Tom is the head chef of a major corporation here in NYC and also shares his skills as a team chef at Cooking by the Book. His passion and appreciation for beer started when in college at the University of Wisconsin.
