Cascadian Chorale: A Winter's Night
The night in winter can hold many meanings, from the ominous to the comforting. Christina Rossettis famed poem "In the bleak midwinter" appears in the traditional setting by Harold Darke and a new version by William Averitt. Cecilia McDowalls cantata "A Winters Night" incorporates traditional carols into a fun but modern context. And we celebrate two local composers with large-scale works: Abraham Kaplans "Eight Days of Chanukah," and "Ancient Souls" by Composer-in-Residence Karen P. Thomas.
