Buy your ticket right now to have your silhouette(s) hand cut at Historic Deerfield December 8-9, 2012. Up to 10 tickets are available within each timeslot. These make a unique holiday gift for family and friends.
Silhouette artist Lauren Muney will demonstrate the historic art of cutting likenesses freehand from paper using nothing more than a pair of scissors-just by looking at the visitor. She uses no drawing, tracing, throwing of shadows, machinery, photography, or Photoshop - which makes her work (and the work of artists like her for centuries before) so incredible and rare... and worthwhile to do for families.
Demonstration times are 10 a.m.-12 noon and 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, December 8; 11 a.m.-12 noon and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 9.
People who wish to purchase their likeness as a silhouette should pre-register for their timeslot here. Price includes general admission. Silhouettes come with a mat suitable for framing. A duplicate silhouette can be added for just $10.
All visitors can watch the demonstrations.
Event is "Rain, Snow or Shine" - cancellations before Friday, 11/30 will receive a full refund. Ticket holders should arrive at the Visitor Center at Hall Tavern - Orientation Theater 10 minutes before their timeslot begins.
