The Paradise Theatre School: Classical Guitarist, Mark Hilliard Wilson
The Paradise Theatre School is proud to present Classical Guitarist
Mark Hilliard Wilson. Carefully choosing from a repertoire of over
800 years, Wilson has assembled a program that balances works
written for the guitar with transcriptions from orchestral works,
the piano, the harpsichord and the royal instrument of the Spanish
Renaissance, the viheula. Moorish influences mixed with sacred
music of Franco Flemish master Josquin Des Pres in the vuheula
music of Alonso Mudarra, tone poems to the various regions of
Spain in the Romantic-Nationalist-Impressionist music of piano
virtuoso Isaac Albeniz, the sting of the gypsy lament in the works
of the father of the modern guitar, Francisco Tarrega.

Wilson is an improviser, composer, conductor of the Guitar Orchestra of Seattle and rock history and world music and guitar teacher at Bellevue Community College and proud father of the most beautiful two year old daughter he knows, Mark is a busy man.  He has toured extensively through out the northwest with recitals in Bozeman, Montana, Victoria, British Columbia, Boise Idaho and Portland, Oregon, along with a 1998 Carnegie Hall debut with Ensemble Sospeso.   A graduate from Eastman School of Music in New York where he completed his Masters degree in Classical Guitar Performance, under Nicholas Goluses. Mark has taken masterclasses and studied with some of the greatest artists in their filed, such as Paul O'Dette, Eliot Fisk, the Assads, David Russell, William Kannengiser and Carlos Barbosa-Lima.

The performance is Saturday, January 19 at 7:00pm.
