A Luminous New Year's Eve
For the second year in a row, Luminous Voices invites you to celebrate the New Year with an evening of diverse choral music, sparkling wine, and handmade chocolate. The concert will begin at 8:00pm and end at approximately 10:30pm, allowing you to celebrate the official arrival of 2017 as you please. An extended intermission will feature a reception with chocolates and sparkling wine supplied by The Chocolate Lab and Artisan Wines.
The concert will feature a broad range of choral music spanning the centuries, including by such composers as Victoria (16th century), Debussy, and works by the 20th/21st century's popular Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, and Jonathan Dove. Rounding out the program will be songs by Leonard Cohen and Sting, and the evening will finish with a reprise of Zachary Wadsworth's arrangement of Auld Lang Syne, which was first performed at the inaugural 2015 A Luminous New Year's Eve concert.
We will welcome three special guests to join us for this event: Beth Root Sandvoss, cello (returning); Chellan Hoffman, organ (Luminous Voices debut); and Cheryl Emery, piano (returning).
PLEASE NOTE: Patrons will be able to choose their seats only in advance. Those who purchase tickets at the door of the concert hall will be assigned seats by box office staff.
