Weekend Advanced Bicycle Maintenance Course
This 16 hour course will run 10am-6pm on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th October, it starts with the basics and progresses into advanced bike mechanics; we will be completely servicing a bike over the 2 days. You will have the option of working towards a CTC accreditation in advanced cycle maintenance.
If you have your own bike you can do all the repairs on that so by the end you will have a fully serviced bicycle (service worth at least £90, and now the knowledge & skills to repeat this many times!), or you can use one of our bikes to practise on. If you dont have a bike then we may be able to provide you with one at low cost that you can keep at the end of the course please get in touch for more info. NB if your bike is carbon or is worth a lot of money, for insurance reasons (and peace of mind), we may advise you to borrow one of our bikes to carry out the servicing on.
Cost: The minimum cost price of this course is £100 for 2 days with qualified instructors (CTC Tutor, City & Guilds Level 2 Mechanic), including a budget for basic parts for your bike (brake pads, cables, etc.). We would, however, like to be able to offer subsidised places in the future. If you are able to contribute more than £100 it would be greatly appreciated and would enable us to offer this course to a wider range of people in the future. We are asking for anything up to £150 to help towards subsidising places.
If you wish to gain Cycling UK (CTC) accreditation in Advanced Cycle Maintenance, there will be a further £16.20 charge that goes directly to Cycling UK for certificate and administration costs.
