While the Mafia was setting up it's nationwide criminal enterprise, there was one pocket of this gritty city where the Irish thugs still reigned supreme. In Hell's Kitchen, goons like Mickey Spillane, Jimmy Coonan and Mickey Featherstone were still shooting, beating and kidnapping up and down the West Side like the good old days of the original Gangs of New York.
