Elena Urioste and Adam Golka in Concert
Redwood Arts has long understood that the best performances not only come from great performers, but great performers who are let loose to collaborate and plan their program as they see fit. Giving them this artistic license leads to breathtaking live performances that cant be duplicated.
These two performers, consummate soloists in their own right, have chosen to work together for this concert.

PROGRAM:
Mozart Sonata in G Major, K. 379
Messiaen Theme et Variations
Schubert Rondo Brilliante
-intermission-
Brahms Sonata in G Major, Op. 77

ELENA URIOSTE, recently selected as a BBC New Generation Artist and featured on the cover of Symphony magazine, has been hailed by critics and audiences alike for her lush tone, the nuanced lyricism of her playing, and her commanding stage presence. Since first appearing with the Philadelphia Orchestra at age thirteen, she has given acclaimed performances with major orchestras throughout the United States, including the Cleveland Orchestra; New York and Buffalo Philharmonics; Boston Pops; and the Chicago, National, Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Richmond, and San Antonio Symphony Orchestras. Abroad, Elena has appeared with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Edmonton Symphony, Würzburg Philharmonic, Hungarys Orchestra Dohnányi Budafok and MAV Orchestra, and La Orquesta Sinfonica de la Universidad de Guanajuato. She has regularly performed as a featured soloist in Carnegie Halls Stern Auditorium and given recitals in such distinguished venues as the Wigmore Hall in London, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, the Sage Gateshead in Newcastle, Bayerischer Rudfunk Munich, and the Mondavi Center at the University of California-Davis.

Polish-American pianist Adam Golka was recently selected by Sir András Schiff to perform recitals at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr in Germany, Tonhalle Zürich, as well as in Berlin and New York (organized by the 92nd Street Y). Adam has been regularly on the concert stage since the age of sixteen, when he won first prize at the 2nd China Shanghai International Piano Competition. He has also received the Gilmore Young Artist Award and the Max I. Allen Classical Fellowship Award from the American Pianists Association.
With his extensive concerto repertoire, Golka has appeared as a soloist with dozens of orchestras, among those the BBC Scottish, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Indianapolis, New Jersey, Milwaukee, Phoenix, San Diego, Fort Worth, Vancouver, Seattle, and Jacksonville symphonies, Grand Teton Festival Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra of Ottawa, the Sinfonia Varsovia, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Warsaw Philharmonic, and the Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra of Venezuela. Adam made his Carnegie Hall Isaac Stern Auditorium Debut in 2010, performing Rachmaninoffs Third Concerto with the New York Youth Symphony, and also performed a cycle of all five Beethoven concerti in 2011 with the Lubbock Symphony, under the baton of his brother, Tomasz Golka.
