In 1979, frustrated with the lack of serious roles being offered him, Paul Lynde abruptly quit Hollywood Squares while his personal life spiraled out of control. Zany Hijinx presents an intimate peek at the beloved Center Square and ponders what brought him to this point and what could redeem him? Best known for his quick-witted comebacks on Hollywood Squares and as Uncle Arthur from Bewitched, Paul was his own biggest critic and was never satisfied with his career or personal life.

Gene Dante (Paul Lynde): Gene appeared as Dionysus in THE BACCHAE at American Repertory Theaters Oberon Nightclub. Previously at A.R.T. Gene appeared in both The Lilys Revenge and The Rocky Horror Show (Brad Majors, Elliot Norton Award nomination). He also was the title role in the recent critically acclaimed New England Tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Previous roles include Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida (Radames), Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Andrew Jackson), The Fantasticks (El Gallo), and Disneys Beauty and the Beast (The Beast), and several appearances in productions by Ryan Landry's Gold Dust Orphans.
