On Friday April 20th 2012, Ian Hesford, of the band Telesma, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while performing onstage at Ram's Head Live in Baltimore. Thanks to two members of the audience, Sarah Saccoccio and Tom Swiss, who started CPR immediately, Ian made it to the hospital where EMTs worked to revive him for over 90 minutes. They had given up, but at the insistance of a determined ER nurse, one more attempt was made, and Ian's pulse came back. His recovery, which included round-the-clock care in Mercy Medical Center's Critical Care Unit, hyperthermia treatment, physical and occupational therapy, was ultimately successful. Exactly three weeks after his near-fatal heart attack, Ian walked out of the hospital, much to the wonder and amazement of doctors, nurses, friends, family and fans.

Unfortunately, Ian, like many artists, has no health insurance coverage. His medicals bills are enormous, and he must continue care for his heart for the rest of his life. For that reason a special fund, The Painted Talis-man Trust, has been set up to handle donations for Ian's ongoing needs.

The arts community in Baltimore is coming together to support one of its own. The Painted Talis-man Trust is hosting the "Benefit Concert for Ian Hesford" on Thursday, June 28, 2012 to raise money for his trust. All funds raised will go to the trust, which will be used for Ian.
