Please join us for our second series of the year: four new Bach Cantatas at three diverse Chicago churches.
The Chicago Bach Ensemble consists of vocal soloists and a chamber orchestra. The Ensemble's goal is to perform four different programs a year, each of it in three different churches in Chicago or the Chicago area.
Performing Bach Cantatas in a small ensemble-like setting treats each instrument as a soloist. The choir is substituted by four solo voices. The focus is on spiritual repertoire, initially by J.S. Bach. The ensemble is led by conductor James Setapen and has in its ranks some of the best area professional musicians and vocal soloists.

BWV 10: Meine Seel erhebt den Herren (My soul magnifies the Lord)
BWV 11: Lobet Gott in seinen Reichen (Praise God in his kingdoms)
BWV 56: Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen (I will the cross-staff gladly carry)
BWV 135: Ach Herr, mich armen Sünder (Ah Lord, me a poor sinner)
