The Marlborough Pub & Theatre and Eyes Wide Open Cinema present CELLULOID PERVERSIONS, a new film night exploring the boundaries of queerness, art, and erotica. For our second event we present:
Dir. Gustavo Vinagre / Brazil / 2014 / 50min
Four queer male friends navigate the rapidly changing environment of their neighbourhood by trying to reclaim their communal spaces. They work to queer their surroundings by having sex in new-built apartments, on building sites, and in playgrounds. Gustavo Vinagres raw, political and poetic film blurs the boundaries between fact, fiction and porn, exploiting the clichés of gay porn fantasies - the construction worker, the estate agent, the daddy-son scenario - to comment on the encroaching gentrification of queer spaces and consumerist millennial gay culture.
Winner of the 2015 Curitiba International Film Festival's New Views Award.
This will be accompanied by a selection of shorts exploring queer male sex and sexuality.

Eyes Wide Open Cinema is a queer film series that has been running in Brighton since 2012. Since its inception, Eyes Wide Open has endeavoured to explore the wide breadth of queer cinema and foreground those on the margins of gender and sexuality. Eyes Wide Open are teaming up with the Marlborough for Celluloid Perversions, a new night that explores the boundaries of queerness and erotica through the medium of film. We look forward to bringing you a varied programme that explores sexuality at its most frank with subjects whose sexualities are seldom rendered on screen.
