Lisa Geduldig and El Rio Present...
Comedy Returns to El Rio!

Comedy Returns to El Rio is a popular monthly comedy show (every 3rd Thursday of the month) co-produced by Kung Pao Kosher Comedys Lisa Geduldig and El Rio. The show, which has been taking place for the past 6 years and 10 months at El Rio in San Franciscos Mission District, features an eclectic, multicultural mix of intelligent, progressive, LGBT and straight comedians from the Bay Area and beyond.

What do the daughter of a garbageman, the owner of a taqueria and salsa company, someone celebrating his 35th year as a waiter, a transgender comedian, and someone who came to SF from NY 33 years ago for a 3-week visit have in common? Comedy!

This month features: Maureen Langan, Victor Escobedo, Bob McIntyre, Morgan, and Lisa Geduldig.

Maureen Langan performs at clubs, theaters, and festivals in the U.S, Canada, Europe, and South Africa. She has opened for Joy Behar, Steven Wright, Dennis Miller, and performed on Broadway with Rosie ODonnell. Carolines on Broadway in NYC is her home club. Maureen has appeared on Gotham Live, HBO, Red Eye, Comics Unleashed, Cozi TV,  FOX, CBS, HLN, in the film Marci X, and in many national commercials. She hosts Hangin with Langan, a live, three-hour talk show on San Franciscos premier radio station KGO. Maureen will be making her solo show debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August with her one-woman show, Daughter of a Garbage Man. She will preview excerpts from the show at El Rio. Comedian and actor, Jerry Stiller, says: Maureen is to comedy what James Brown was to soul. www.MaureenLangan.com

Victor Escobedos mission as a stand up comic has always been to talk about his experience melting in the melting pot that is America. Victor moved to the US from Mexico when he was 12. At 48, Victor is still angry at his parents for uprooting him and bringing him to a different country. He's also grown to be grateful to them for having done so. Victor loves San Francisco Mission District where he has been a business owner since 1999. He'd appreciate you following him @victorescobedo

Bob McIntyre recently celebrated his 35th year as a waiter. He enjoys foggy days at the beach, Target, and television shows featuring women in prison. In July he can be seen playing The President of Earth and Professor Ping in Barbarella: Live and on Stage at the Phoenix Theater and in December will revise his role as Jerri Blank in the annual holiday show Strangers With XXXMas Candy at the Shelton Theater.

Morgan has been working as a standing up storyteller for ten years and was a storyteller in KQED's StoryCorps OutLouds first live show at the Chapel in San Francisco. She also told at the Risk show in NYC, LA and at Bed Post Confessions in Austin Texas. She got her San Francisco storytelling start with Bawdy Storytelling and studied with David Ford at the Marsh. She also did a one-woman show titled "Hold Still I Want to Tell You A Story" and she plays numerous pee in the corner bars all over San Francisco. morgansfunny.com
