Marita's House Concerts Presents... Richard Smith!

On Friday, May 27, 2016, Marita's House Concerts will be hosting a house concert for Richard Smith, U.S. National Fingerstyle Champion!

Richard, born in London, England and currently residing in Nashville, TN, has performed throughout the world, appearing with acclaimed musicians such as Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Doug Smith, John Standefer, to name just a few.

Held inside this 100-year old house (2546 N.E. 16th Ave.) in the Historic Irvington District of Northeast Portland, OR, doors open at 6:00 pm with the concert beginning at 7 pm. Please NOTE: Seating is General Admission and is limited to just 50 people, so don't wait too long to reserve your spot!

Suggested Donation: just $18 for general admission seats (DOS $20), and $25 for VIP seats (guaranteed a seat in the first 2 rows). NOTE: All seats are open and not assigned; early arrivals will have the best selection. Food and Refreshments will be available to all guests at no additional charge.

SO WHAT IS FINGERSTYLE? Many people are familiar with Singer-Songwriter guitarists but not Fingerstyle guitarists. The key difference is solo Fingerstyle guitarist combine rhythmic bass along with the intricate melody, often sounding like 2 or 3 guitars! Richard's music repertoire ranges from Bach to The Beatles... and Beyond, and includes many recognizable folk, blues, and even Sousa marches!
