Rivky
Rivkys musical career took off after joining Cellist, Brian Sanders, with the writing and recording of their first Album-EP, Angel Sings the Blues. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Rivky's music combines unique beat structure, a Jazzy-folksy, blues style, and the influence of her Hassidic culture upbringing. Rivky's work has been compared to the 1950's Jacques Brel, Billy Joel, Annie Lennox, K.D. Lang, Freddy Mercury and Regina Spektor.
Their newest demo was recently produced by Grammy Winning Artist, Amy Lee from the band Evanescence:

Last year Rivky and Brian were invited to perform at Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet in NYC featuring Suzanne Vega. Recently, they were also included on the bill for the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Rivky continues to play at various spaces, jumping genres, stages and styles. Including, a recent interest of her work by, Aussie Director, Jack Feldstein in his Musical Cabaret at the Workshop Theater Company, along with a whole medley of cast members.

Rivky is known for her off-kilter style, the soul and fervor of a preacher man, only with more, Jewish gusto, to no fault of her own. She'll dive into a bluesy, folk-rocker, praying, k'vetching, nervous, Joplin-esque, Freddy Mercury- sort of sweaty, tired mess by the end of the evening.
I am drawn to Rivky by her raw talent. What I love about her as an artist is the strength in her vulnerability- absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to hear more from her! -Amy Lee, Evanescence
A powerful, powerful singer. Capable of reaching notes too high and low for most -and capable of hitting them with emotion. -Howard Bloom, Former publicist for Billy Joel
