Workshop for Actors : 4 Week Course: Fundamentals of Stanislavsky and Meisner, in practice
Sunday March 13th 7pm-9pm :
Workshop for Actors : Part 1 : Fundamentals of Stanislavsky and Meisner, in practice
Taught by local Film Director & Actor Altair

Actors are encouraged to bring a monologue, preferably memorized, to this introductory class on the fundamentals of acting. This workshop will include some discussion and critique, but will be mostly concerned with doing, that is acting and experimenting with acting technique! Open to 18+ year old actors. Actors taking the full class will have the opportunity to have their monologue documented on video. Considerations for actors in theater vs cinema will be discussed. The most popular modern methods of acting technique in the Stanivslavsky and Meisner schools will also be discussed.
$90 for the full four weeks. In addition, Sunday April 3rd will be an optional special night of performances, by students, with an audience of hand selected NYC theatre and film directors.
Actors who choose to take the class will be paired with fellow actors at the close of the night, and given short scenes to work on for the following week. Actors may also bring in scenes which they wish to work on.
($90 for the entire 4 week class,
which includes an optional performance on the 4th week - Sunday, April 3rd)

At the conclusion of the scene, the entire class will discussed which moments worked effectively in the performance. We will also discuss elements of technique that could be improved upon. Actors will be given the opportunity to run their scenes again. We will discuss schools of technique, now directly in the context of our practice.
