Event
Takahiro Kawaguchi & Makoto Oshiro
Japanese artists Takahiro Kawaguchi and Makoto Oshiro have collaborated for years as the live performance and installation trio The Great Triangle. These unconventional artists experiment with handmade sound-making devices and everyday objects to creature configurations of sound with discrete relationships to performance spaces. Tuesday, March 22nd at 8pm, a special evening at ISSUE Project Rooms 22 Boerum Place theater, features solo sets by both artists. Kowaguchi, who describes his work as space recognition through the sounds, performs a work for handmade acoustic horns and small objects, drawing on his recent release with Utah Kawasaki, Amorphous Spores (Erstwhile). Oshiro combines diverse materials including electronic devices and household products in a solo improvisation.
The event is preceded by an open-bar reception for ISSUE Members at 7pm.
