38th Big Muddy Film Festival Celebration Reception Chicago!
All alumni and friends of Southern Illinois University are invited to a reception to celebrate the rich history of the Big Muddy Film Festival. Now in its 38th year and based at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the BMFF has become one of the best-respected, wholly independent, community-focused film festivals. Big Muddy is among the oldest student-organized film festivals in the United States.
This Chicago reception will feature a Q & A with special guest Cinema and Photography alum and film writer John Scott III (Maggie, 2015). John will discuss his journey from SIU film student to the acclaimed Tribeca Film Festival.
Meet the organizers of this years Big Muddy Film festival and converse with faculty and students from SIUs Department of Cinema and Photography.
Whether you're an alum, student, friend of SIU, or film buff, this is your opportunity to socialize with old friends and make new ones as you learn more about the Big Muddy Film Festival.

Tickets are just $10. All proceeds go directly to the SIU Alumni Association - Chicago Chapter Student Scholarship Fund. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
This event is hosted by SIU Alumni Association, College of Mass Communications and Media Arts, Chicago Chapter of the SIU Alumni Association, and other supporters of SIU.

Select films from prior BMFFs will be shown on Saturday, March 19th at the MCA. These film include the Chicago Premieres of 'East LA Interchange' and 'The Seventh Fire'.
