Illuminatio: Yo Soy
THIS SHOW HAS ALMOST REACHED ITS SALES LIMIT. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GET A TICKET, THERE MAY STILL BE TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. DOORS OPEN AT 6PM. Illuminatio: Yo Soy is an immersive sensory experience in which music, dance, visual images and acting go beyond their usual secondary role of enhancing a script and take on the central role of relating the dramatic conflict, synchronized in a living symbolic language. The struggle outside us reflects the struggle within. Harmony. Seduction. Corruption. Redemption. A story of transformation and healing. Of Love and Cognition. Humanity on the brink of Catharsis...One night only ________________________________________________________ Origins and More Upcoming Events:
In 2004, Antonio Delgado developed a creative team dynamic with his company, Caja Negra, and they embarked on an inward journey guided by the question, Who am I? It was a space for encounter with the Self where everyone could Be and Feel, Express, Communicate, Transcend. Illuminatio, from the Latin word meaning Illumination, is about the inner journey that begins once this question is asked, the journey from catharsis to extasis, when you truly see yourself unmasked.
Illuminatio:Yo Soy itself is a symbol for initiation, a mysterious initiation story that is so familiar because it is a cosmic drama told again and again, heralding from ancient times.
The dance shifts with the movements of the soul, sometimes using very controlled, graceful movement, and at others, movement that is more utilitarian. Many dance styles are represented, including movement derived from the martial arts, from flamenco and Spanish Classical dance, from classical ballet, and from modern dance. Original music composed by Andrei Stomma, Felicia Loud, and Milton.
