Gwendolyn & Guests will premiere Nourishment on April 1-3, 2016 at the historic Fleming Mansion in the Platt Park neighborhood. Nourishment is an evening length performance experience aimed at provoking all five senses, through mediums including dance, live music, visual arts, food and drinks. This is the first installment in a series of site specific, interdisciplinary art performances hosted all over the USA.
For Nourishment, a cast of dancers, musicians and visual artists will come together and collaboratively tackle the question: What does it feel like to fall in love? Nourishment invites the audience to re-live, re-imagine, and re-learn what the plunge of falling in love feels like-- and more than that-- the audience will experience the tastes, sounds, smells, and looks of love.
Included in the ticket price, the audience will be served an assortment of organic chocolates, as well as a cocktail and liquor, to stimulate the senses --all inspired by the act of falling in love.
Artistic Director, Gwendolyn Gussman, is an NYC-based choreographer and dancer, and is returning to her hometown of Denver to premiere this unique project. Gwendolyn & Guests is a group of Denver natives, some of whom live in NYC and will be returning for this project, as well as local Denver artists. Nourishment is committed to the theme of locality, and has teamed up with Chefs and Craft Cocktail specialists thriving in the Denver food scene. Sustainability is important to this project, and locally sourced ingredients are used whenever possible.
Collaborating artists for this project include: Nico Gonzales, Scott Graham, Aja Jackson, Jack Koloskus, Angela Lamb, Mariah Martens, Breana Meyers, Hallie Spoor, and more!
