Empowering Girls - A Benefit Concert for Girls Inc. of the Central Coast
On Saturday March 12th at Kuumbawa Jazz Center, Girls Inc. of the Central Coast proudly presents Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum and Special Guest: Bean Creek.
Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum are widely regarded as being among the preeminent bluegrass and Americana artists of our time. They have recorded over twenty albums including their Grammy-nominated album "The Oak and the Laurel".
Award winning Bean Creek plays straight ahead traditional style bluegrass. Vocal harmonies and fine pickin' place Bean Creek in the top echelon of the traditional bluegrass scene.
The Mission of Girls Inc. of the Central Coast is 'To Inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold'. Multiple programs focus on leadership and self-empowerment for girls 8-18. More than 1.200 girls are served in Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties! The programs are totally facilitated by teens. They are confident, strong, and passionate about returning to their communities as role models for younger girls.
Concert-goers will not only hear great music but will meet some amazing young women. Come, share an evening of music and inspiration.
