Description:
Lynda Simkins, Executive Director of Natick Community Organic Farm and long-time organic flower grower, and Deena Kanopkin, Flower Manager at Natick Community Organic, will welcome participants to the farm to learn about all aspects of organic flower production.; This first workshop will walk participants through crop planning, record keeping, seeding, transplanting, marketing and selling.; This is will be a comprehensive learning experience, perfect for those who are just starting or those who would like to ramp up their commercial flower production.

About the Instructors:
Lynda Simkins has been Executive Director at Natick Community Organic Farm for over 30 years.  Throughout her tenure, Lynda's innovative thinking has been integral in shaping the farm into an educational, community-based organization.  Lynda is the go-to woman for organic flowers with many years of experience growing and selling certified organic flowers through the farm.  Lynda is also a past president of the NOFA/Mass Board of Directors, and Natick Community Organic Farm is a longtime NOFA/Mass member.

Deena Kanopkin has been the flower manager and beekeeper at Natick Community Organic Farm for 2 years. A recent graduate of Brandeis University, she studied environmental studies and studio sculpture. Deena uses her art degree to create unique flower arrangements and floral crafts. She also teaches craft classes for children at the farm using farm sourced and natural materials.
