Gender Bias in Education
Confronting Gender Bias in Education Date: December 8th 5:30PM -7:30PM Location: Koret Auditorium, San Francisco Main Public Library Refreshments Provided
Can you remember a time someone treated you in a way that was obviously related to your gender?
As one of the primary methods of socialization, gender identity affects everyone. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is offering a public panel discussion to explore and address gender bias in education and how stereotypes and limitations based on gender hinder learning and opportunities for all students, and affects them well into adulthood. Moderated by ADL Education Director Luna Malbroux, the panel will include Mere Abrams from Gender Spectrum, Ashanti Branch from the Ever Forward Club and Emma Mayerson from Alliance for Girls. Open to the public. Youth, parents, community based organizations, educators, and advocates are all encouraged to attend and participate.
Join the Anti-Defamation League, along with esteemed partners and expert panelists to explore how our schools and communities can be more inclusive and supportive to trans, gender-expansive, and cisgender students. Panelist and community members will discuss: How gender bias affects various populations Parallels to gender bias in the workforce Strategies to create more inclusive communities
