The New Old Time Chautauqua Vaudeville Show!
Juggling, music, magic, and merriment fills The Palindrome in Port Townsend this winter. The New Old Time Chautauqua, an educational vaudeville circus, hosts weekend of performances to benefit annual summer tours to underserved communities throughout the United States.
The Flying Karamazov Brothers make a special appearance in the upcoming vaudeville extravaganza. Having reinvented juggling forever, the juggling troupe has performed on Seinfeld, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood; they hold multiple Obies for their work in New York City; and has shared stages with Frank Sinatra, The Who, Placido Domingo, and Robin Williams.
Also appearing will be Port Townsend's commissioner of comedy and magician extraordinaire Joey Pipia, The Mudbay Jugglers - fresh from their 30th anniversary celebration, Seattle's favorite puppet Godfrey Daniels, poet Kevin Murphy - author of Between Onions and Oxygen, aerialist Carey Cramer of Seattle's Acrobatic Conundrum, Port Townsend's own Two of Clubs - featuring the amazing juggling of Daniel Berg and Rio Sabella, and dancing tubas by the sensational Pipia Sisters. The Fighting instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band/Orchestra provide live music throughout the evening. The New Old Time Chautauqua is a non-profit organization that brings world class live entertainment and free circus workshops to schools, prisons, and retirement homes throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alaska, and British Columbia. Founded in 1981 by The Flying Karamazov Brothers and Patch Adams, this group of professional performers and educators share their summer months to bring laughter, wonder, and inspiration where it is most needed. The group remains one of the only touring chautauquas in the United States today.
