Aaron Jones & Claire Mann
The ddazzling and dynamic duo of Old Blind Dogs' singer, bouzouki player and guitarist, winner of the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards as 'Instrumentalist of the Year,' Aaron Jones and fiery fiddler, multiple All-Ireland Champion on flute and tin whsitle and singer Claire Mann met in 1997 on the thriving folk scene in Edinburgh. Over the years they have developed a unique and exciting musical relationship that enthralls audiences with a mixture of traditional and original Scottish and Irish music and song, relasing a critically acclaimed CD, 'Secret Orders,' and recently a secon album by Litha, their band with two members of the Celtic group from Germany, Cara. As BBC Radio 2 proclaimed, 'They were sensational last night. Apart from the technical brilliance and beautiful interpretations of tunes and songs, there is so much power, personality, passion and drive to their playing. A packed house was screaming for more. Great musicianship and great playing... brilliant stuff.' At the last Old Blind Dogs concert in this area, Man was Dogs best friend when she sat in for regular fiddler, Jonnie Hardie. You didn't have to be a Claire-voyant to know Claire Mann could hold her own with Clareman Martin Hayes on fiddle and joined by Jones, hailed by Irish Music Magazine editor Sean Laffey as 'one of the best bouzouki players I have ever seen,' this will be a concert guaranteed to delight all Celtic Music lovers.
