RECSI November Dinner Program
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of objects. Over the recent years the industry has seen a sharp rise in the use of BIM in both design and construction to enhance the design process and save construction cost and time.
Best practices for model ownership and transition of ownership between design partners and contractors will be discussed using real word construction examples.
Learning objectives: 1) Familiarize yourself with how BIM is used in our local area and construction industry as a whole. 2) Understand the basics of the Levels of Development as defined by the AIA 202 document. 3) Define and execute BIM element ownership though the design phases of projects with multiple design team members and disciplines. 4) Leverage BIM modeling techniques to improve design and construction team efficiencies.
