Urban Weeds and Wild Foods Part 2: Preparing for Your Table
Whether they're terrorizing your lawn and garden or growing free in the wilderness, weeds are a common free source of food available for the picking. Many of our most common weeds hide huge nutrition in their tasty little leaves! In this hands-on cooking class we will prepare delicious dishes using weeds like dandelion, plantain, cat's ear, nipplewort and shotweed. Attendees receive a handy take-home brochure with field identification information and cooking tips. This is the second of a two-part program. Be sure to take a look at "Part 1: Identify and Harvest" offered earlier in the afternoon for hands-on weed identification and gathering. It is recommended (but not required) to take both.
